LWYC COVID-19 Updates

May 12, 2020----
To allow preparatory projects at LWYC prior to the expiration of Governor Evers, WEO # 28, on 5/26/2020, under the following conditions:
  • No more than 10 people present on the property at one time.
  • Tasks that require more than one person to complete should be done by members of the same household/family.
  • Other club members performing tasks should adhere to the social distancing policy of at least 6 feet.
  • Workers are encouraged to wear face masks and gloves while on the property.
  • Volunteers will be required to sign a Covid-19 related waiver before participating.
Any terms not specifically delineated will be in conformance with WEO # 28.

April 22, 2020----
  • As Governor Evers has extended the Safer-At-Home policy via Executive Order #28 to May 26, 2020, the policy changes and postponing of events noted in the email of March 31 and the April 6 update will continue at least until lifting of the Executive Order on that date. We will continue to post updates on this dedicated link on the LWYC website.
  • Members can access their boats on LWYC grounds but will have to plan for the non-availability of common facilities such as the Clubhouse. We are sorry for this inconvenience, but are taking these policy steps in the interest of minimizing public health risk to our members.
  • Now that we have a new time horizon for lifting of the Executive Order, we will begin to tentatively plan some dates for early season club activities. We will update these on the website schedule when available. The first several activities will likely be Spring Cleanup and Boats In. More to come on this in the coming days and weeks.
  • Thank you for your forbearance of the delayed start of our season and the interim policies. Please take care of yourselves and each other as this public health risk continues. We’ll look forward to seeing you all healthy and ready to enjoy our Club in the coming months.

April 6, 2020------
  • In the interest of minimizing the risk of contracting virus on LWYC grounds, the Clubhouse and Annex will be left closed and winterized until further notice. The LWYC Board will re-assess availability of these amenities based on developing status of risk management.
  • Due to the cancellation of some planned projects for this year, the open application period for Dry Sailing spots will be ended at the close of business April 7, 2020. Those members who have already paid for Dry Sailing spots before that date will be able to use this amenity for this season.
  • The previously published schedule dates for early season events, and particularly, Spring Cleanup on April 18 no longer apply. Boat Launch and Membership Meeting events for May 2nd will be similarly postponed. We don’t yet know when we will be able to reschedule these events, but we will communicate new dates and information via this website link as the information becomes available. We are still planning on having a sailing season for LWYC, but it will necessarily be shortened from typical seasons.
  • As of this date, all volunteer events (projects, social) involving groups of members or guests are suspended until further notice.
  • The LWYC may, in the interest of risk mitigation, place some restrictions on Club activities even after the lifting of the DHS Executive Order. These decisions will be made based on the developing public health situation and a conservative approach to members and guests’ personal safety.
